The Itinerary in detail:

Day 1 Saturday:

Arrive in Cairo. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met by a Our representative. A bus will take you to your 5 star deluxe hotel. Enjoy your dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 Sunday:

After breakfast, you will meet your Program Director for a welcome briefing, followed by a visit to the Egyptian Museum. The museum houses thousands of pieces including the masterpieces of the golden pharaoh, Tutankhamun.

Day 3 Monday:

After breakfast we drive to the Giza Plateau to visit the most famous pyramids on earth and the only wonder that still exists from the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We will visit the Great Pyramid of King Khufu (Cheops), the pyramid of Chephren and the pyramid of Mykerinus. We will have the chance to enter the Great Pyramid and visit the burial chamber of Khufu. On the plateau we will also ride camels in the Great Sahara, and then we drive to visit the Great Sphinx; the guardian of the Giza necropolis. After lunch we visit a papyrus gallery to learn how ancient Egyptians were able to make paper out of this plant. A material that lasted for thousands of years.

Day 4 Tuesday:

After breakfast, start the morning tour with Saqqara, the cemetery of Memphis. Memphis was the first capital in Egypt. It was built more than 5000 years ago. Saqqara is one of the largest and oldest cemeteries in ancient Egypt. In Saqqara we will visit the oldest pyramid in the world; the Step Pyramid of King Djoser with its funeral complex. We also visit a Mastaba tomb, decorated with beautiful daily life scenes from Pharaonic Egypt. The area of Saqqara is also famous for its local crafts, especially making handmade rugs. This morning we will have the chance to visit one of the carpet schools in this area to learn about part of the culture of the local people living in the area. Then we drive to the restaurant for lunch which will be a choice from the Egyptian cuisine. After lunch, we drive to visit the mosque of Sultan Hassan, the best example of Islamic architecture in Egypt. We also visit the mosque of Rifaie where the last king of Egypt, Farouq and the last shah of Iran are buried.

Day 5 Wednesday:

After breakfast, we check out from the hotel and drive to the Cairo airport to take the flight to Aswan. Once we arrive, we drive to the landing stage of Philae Temples, marking the beginning of the land of Nubia. We take a motor boat to visit the temples since they were built on an island. We have lunch and after lunch we move to the hotel in Aswan where we spend two nights in this beautiful city. In the evening, we visit the spice market in Aswan.

Day 6 Thursday:

This morning After breakfast, we take the bus and drive to the town of Abu Simbel to visit the two great temples of Ramesses II and his beloved Queen Nefertari. This place can easily be considered the Eighth Wonder of the world. The drive is about three and a half hours each way. We have lunch there at a local restaurant overlooking Lake Nasser; the second largest human made lake in the world.

Day 7 Friday:

We check out from the hotel and visit the Nubia Museum. After the museum, we check into the Nile cruise for the next three nights. After lunch, we enjoy a motor boat ride to see the beautiful islands of Aswan and the mythological source of the Nile.

Day 8 Saturday:

Today we visit two temples: in the morning we visit the temple of the crocodile god Sobek (Kom Ombo), and in the afternoon we visit the temple of Edfu, which was dedicated to the god Horus. Edfu temple is believed to be the best preserved temple in Egypt.

Day 9 Sunday:

Today, we visit the complex of Karnak which has many temples mainly built in the Pharaonic Period. Many pharaohs participated in the construction of Karnak including Thuthmosis III, Hatshepsut and Ramesses II. We will also visit the temple of Luxor, built by two of the greatest pharaohs: Amenhotep III and Ramesses II. In the evening, we take a horse and carriage ride in the city of Luxor.

Day 10 Monday:

Early in the morning, you will have the chance to take a Hot Air Balloon ride. If you buy this tour, you will need to be up before sunrise.

The included tour today will be to the west bank of Luxor to visit the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. In the Valley of the Kings we visit the tomb of the golden pharaoh Tutankhamun. After returning from the west bank we check into our 5 star hotel in Luxor for one night.

Late in the afternoon we enjoy a felucca ride up and down the Nile. In the evening, we will have Dinner and spend the night in the hotel.

Day 11 Tuesday:

After breakfast, we check out and drive to Luxor airport to fly back to Cairo. We spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 12 Wednesday:

After breakfast, our representative will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the Cairo International airport for departure.
